The Desert Tech MDR-X is an acronym for Micro Dynamic Rifle Extreme. This is a relatively new rifle as it was introduced in 2018 as an attempt to compete in the United States Army's Next Generation Squad Weapon Program trail to replace the standard issues US Army infantry weapons. Although it lost to the SIG MCX Spear, it still caught a lot of attention in the firearms community and it is also quite sought after as it is a fully ambidextrous bullpup rifle that can take multiple calibers with ease.

The Silverback MDR-X is fully licensed by Desert Tech and it is a faithful replica of the real steel firearm. Exterior-wise, the MDR-X is made of high-quality polymer and aluminum, just like the real gun, this allows the gun to be relatively lightweight as the gun unloaded only weighs 2.7 KGs. The gun features fully ambidextrous controls, a top Picatinny rail, an M-Lok handguard as well as a 14mm threaded outer barrel, all this allows this airsoft rifle to be modular as attachments, muzzle devices, and accessories could be easily mounted.

Internal-wise, this rifle is featured packed, as it has a quick change spring system and Silverback includes 2 additional springs in the box, a 100 and 60 Newton spring, allowing you to change springs on the fly to comply with different fields' power regulations. The hop-up adjustment has an audible click and has 32 positions allowing for precise hop adjustments. This airsoft rifle also features an 18:1 gear set and a high torque short-axis motor and it is 11.1v battery ready

Please do note that the battery space in this airsoft rifle will only take AK-style stick-type batteries.

• One high nub for the hop up unit, to lift bbs from 0.32 grams and above (low nub installed out of the box)
• One PCB jumper, used to switch from 11.1V to 7.4V batteries or deactivate battery protection
